I got very lucky and was able to get two tickets to D23's "Disneyland, U.S.A." event on July 17. Danny and I got admission to the park, two Fast Pass tickets to use on any Fast Pass ride at any time, cute buttons, a ton of Disney candy, and of course, the main event - we attended a screening of the digitally remastered and revamped "Disneyland, U.S.A." film. The movie was a sort of inside look at Disneyland when it first opened - I believe it was designed to show people what all Disneyland had to offer, to get people to go there. Very cool to see though! Some of the original stuff is still in the park, but a lot of things have been taken out.

They had a panel after the film with a past president of Disneyland, an original Imagineer, and one of the original tour guides, all of whom had fun stories about Walt and the early days. They also took us to the backstage areas of the park, where we got to see some of the ride workshops, the fireworks area, and some of the studios they use. Way fun :-)

After the film screening, we had a dessert reception and got to watch the new fireworks show. I'm impressed - Dumbo flies and Tinkerbell does some crazy acrobatics on a wire that goes back and forth and up and down.
So yay D23! And Disneyland :-)
